15 minutes

Well kids...it's been fun.

Still haven't decided if this is a dream or a nightmare. I've always wanted to tell the news, not be it.

I want to make one major clarification. I'm not even going to address the nonsense that's been floating around but I will address one huge misnomer. I was never asked to take the blog down. I was fired without discussion. I took the blog down immediately following my termination, then reposted it Friday evening. There was no defiance or petulance. If I could go back and do it over, I would have never written the post. My job was worth 100 times more than any of this media circus.

Finally, in regards to said media circus, I'm done. I spent 48 hours in the fray, got my points across, but now it's time to focus on my future and rebuilding my life. No Dr. Phil. No Geraldo. No Piers Morgan.

Meanwhile, thanks for the support. To the haters, I respect your right to hate. I will continue to not filter the comments, good or bad.

What's next you ask? Well, that's the million dollar question isn't it.

  1. I like the fact that you are open and tell it like it is. Everyone messes up every once in a while, but we learn from our mistakes. Continue doing what you love and desire, it's in your blood, everyone can see it by your body language and the reality that you embrace while in front of the camera. This is just a test and you can pass it with flying colors...

  3. It´s a sad situation, but now let's see the positive: your name is hearing worldwide in a manner you never dreamed. Thus let me say it is a good time for new opportunities to come.

  4. Take what you've learned and share it with the upcoming generation of movers and shakers. It's in your blood to be of service and your ability to stand in your truth is admirable. Your future? It's going to be great!

  5. You've allowed the media to do to you what they do to everyone else. Don't change who you are. Allow people to realize the real you is worth more than the your they're pressenting. You have plenty of supporters. Don't ever forget that.

  7. Exactly. Silence her from telling the truth!! God forbid everyone sees who she really is. Maybe then, they'll like her, and how dare that ever be an option.

  8. I'm not sure if you would have seen my tweeter to you. I'm still learning how that all works. I had said that you should consider launching your own business using what is know as Crowdfunding. It's a relative simple process and you can get funds for a new business in as little as three months. Investors from all over the country can invest from $1,000 and up into your new enterprise. Lots are doing it. Write a book, launch an investigative resource center, or something your interested in working with. I sent you a link on my twitter to one I crowdfunding source to consider.

  9. We taught, here, in Bucharest, that this is happening only in Romania! Seems not! :)
    Good luck to you!

  10. Sorry this turned out this way for you. But I'm sure you'll land on your feet. Reporters have done *actual* bad things and still found jobs in other markets.

  11. I have a feeling that this was meant for you so you could find another job where you can utilize your great comic sense and your journalistic skills! Don't worry honey! New doors will open for you! All the best!

  12. "Hoda Kotb Admits to "Landing Strip," on the Today Show without repercussion(which, btw, I see nothing wrong with)and you get canned for a blogspot? Guess I better not tell my boss I don't wear drawers.

  13. I get so tired of self-righteous, stuffed shirt types pulling this kind of stunt. They encourage staff to find news or create news and being a major network affiliate I am sure that management at the station KNOWS that some of the stories they air are flammatory and partial truths. I could understand termination if you were involved in illegal activities but the post was personal and funny. Methinks that perhaps one of the stuffed shirts had an ax to grind and this happened to give them an opportunity. I'd say good riddance . . . you can do so much better than a small job in a small town working for small minds. Best wishes and go kick butt!

  14. Honesty is a great virtue in a journalist. May you always hold onto it.

What's next? An open door to a greater opportunity. The loss here belongs to those who didn't have the courage to seize the opportunity in what you posted here. Pity them. Then forget them.

    Onward...

  15. In the age of social media and fast topics, this too shall pass and shortly, every one will forget. They always do. You are a writer at heart, you will be back and continue to be yourself and in the end, that will get you as far as you ever need to go.

Hope your million dollar question is answered soon.

  17. Hopefully this will pass rather quickly... The Internet and the news and social media are all always changing the main story rather frequently. Hopefully it will all blow over by next week?!

    Good luck!

  19. Shea I just happen to come across the article about you and your termination on comcast.net

Let me first say my heart goes out to you. I have experienced those kinds of terminations one too many times myself. It is a shame that the rules have been written to protect those who are shadier than those of us who are honest with ourselves.

I know with your talent you will bounce back soon enough.
